Building Energy Rating (BER) (Arklow/Wicklow/Dublin)
If you are selling or renting your home, you must provide a BER certificate to prospective buyers and tenants to enable them to objectively compare the energy performance of different dwellings on a like for like basis.
A BER is an indication of the energy performance of a home and is the calculated energy use for space and hot water heating, ventilation and lighting based on standard occupancy. The rating is similar to the energy label on your fridge and is denoted on a scale of A to G, with A1 being the most energy efficient and G being the least energy efficient.
